Hi - my name is Geli. Cultural Collage is a dream I have held since childhood - a way of people from all over the world sharing their different perceptions of the world we live in - through their own experiences in a variety of cultural contexts.

My mother was born in Peru of Scottish and Spanish parentage. However her mother has a Portuguese name - so who knows how many other cultures are involved in her ancestry.

My father was born in Liverpool. His father was born in Trondheim in Norway and was in the Merchant Navy of that country. My paternal grandmother was from Dublin. It is perhaps not surprising then that I have always been fascinated by other cultures. This has been born out by my choice of jobs and hobbies. I have taught English as a Foreign Language, marketed multicultural arts events and have performed Latin music and dance both semi-professionally and for pleasure!

Despite that, I haven\'t travelled much, as I don\'t much like air travel. What a waste of opportunities - at least I can claim to be green, not just a coward! However my home city of Manchester is home to people from all over the world, so I am lucky enough to have been introduced to a variety of different cultures.

Cultural Collage is the name of a radio show which I present between 10am and noon every Sunday morning on ALL FM 96.9 community radio in Manchester . However much I love radio, however, it is quite a limited media, so I started to promote different cultures through live events. Now we have the website - so the possibilities are endless!
